Serving as a Council Member and President, Planning Commissioner, and on many regional elected boards, I have expertise tackling all the complex issues our county faces — housing, healthcare, homelessness, sustainable growth, economic development, public safety, and major transportation and infrastructure projects.

As volunteer Director of the nonprofit Kitsap History Museum, I've run a small business, and know our county's journey from past to present. As a PhD Scientist and former NASA Director, I have a forward-thinking vision for our future. And as a certified Project Manager, I turn vision into action.

I've been fortunate to live in Kitsap with my husband, a shipyard worker, for over a decade. We're proudly raising our son here, and I work every day to make our community a better place for both our generation and his.

Just like any family, I believe our community thrives when we come together and collaborate.  I recognize the unique opportunity a county commissioner has to facilitate cooperation among our cities and towns, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and private businesses, all with the aim of delivering the best possible and efficient services to our citizens.
